eBay
I have been doing eBay for a number of years now. Not as a major business, but as extra income and fun. Due to it I have learned a great deal about glassware, what usually sells and what doesn't. Now, that doesn't always work, but enough of the time to make it worth the time and effort.
Besides the money is the entertainment value of going to the auctions to acquire the items to sell. I don't collect anything, if I buy it, it's with the intention of selling it. If it doesn't sell on eBay, then it's put in a stack to go into a garage sale. That took care of all the "non selling stuff" this summer and funded a lot of the activities the kids and I wanted to do while they were all home. Worked out great!
Going to the auctions has enabled us to meet some really neat people. Most are more than willing to answer questions I may have about a certain piece of glassware. We try not to bid against each other too often to keep the costs down for all of us. That doesn't affect those that aren't part of "our group" but that's what an auction is all about, selling to the one that will pay the most for an item. Me, I don't pay much, if it's too much, I can live without it, there will be other auctions and other items.
Occasionally there will be someone that we don't particularly like so we will run them up on something they want, the key is to get out before they do! The game, it's a hoot.
