Family Time

Is there anything more precious than taking time with your family to do some fun things?  Or to just sit around the table after dinner (yes, actually sitting around a table after you have eaten together at the table…not in front of the TV) and talking about the day or the week.

Dinner time is a great opportunity to visit.  Turn off the TV, sit at a table, eat dinner and talk.  Parents can ask questions that are non threatening to their kids and find out lots of information about the activities their kids are in that they may not be aware of or haven't paid attention to since they are busy working to provide a living.  Kids may find that their parents really do care what is going on and actually may ask them for their thoughts on certain subjects.  Novel concept, get the family input and you may find out the kids do have some good thoughts on occasion!

We all have a tendency to be in a hurry and let dinner time become a time of everyone has a schedule of their own so we don't have time to eat together.  Well, certainly there are times when that is true, but if dinner is set at a certain time and everyone knows that it will be required to be there, it may end up being more "possible" to be home to eat than they thought.  Try it, it may work.
